Hamilton Niagara tour

Hamilton/Niagara tour

We are going to have a wonderful weekend tour of the Hamilton/Niagara region on September 24 & 25, 2022. This will be an enjoyable weekend of comradery, healthy activity, beautiful scenery and lasting memories. And the best part is…we’ll be raising money for the United Way!!

We have scouted 2 routes which include a trip to Niagara Falls and a loop to Caledonia with the option of riding on the Chippewa Trail (old rail trail).  Both routes are in the 80-90 km range. The terrain is an awesome mix of flat, rolling, and hills, including the Niagara Escarpment; what goes up, must come down!

Day 1: Start at the Burlington GO station and ride along the Niagara Escarpment into Niagara Falls.  We’ll have a United Way stop, lunch and a bit of time to hang out in the Falls before riding the GO train back to Burlington.  Route length ~ 90KM

Day 2: An interesting loop starting and ending in Dundas, near our accommodations.  The route loops through Caledonia with scenic views of the Grand River as well as vistas from the Niagara Escarpment.  Those wanting gravel can ride the Chippewa Trail for a stretch and those wanting to stay on the road will have that option, with a common meet-up spot.  We’ll hit some stops popular with the local cycling community. Route length ~ 85KM

A resident team member and organizer of previous B4UW rides has graciously offered camping in their backyard, complete with pool, hot tub and BBQ.

The Hamilton/Halton Regional United Way will be on hand to greet us over the weekend and tell us how our contributions help support them in their effort to provide service to those who need it most.
